Why is this game so rage inducing? I wish to know the psychology behind it.

I never get mad at any other game, except for Brawlhalla. Nothing can make me not angry while playing this game. Even If I win, let's say the opponent happens to have me on the ropes a couple times, i'd end up still raging, screaming, or breaking something. I've lost 2 monitors and a keyboard to this madness. I can play Mortal Kombat, Nba 2k, Street fighter, and a lot of other games and I won't feel the slightest hint of rage. Please, if anyone is educated enough to know anything about how this game affects peoples mental state, let me know.

I don't know any psychology about this, but I just want to say if this game makes you break 2 monitor and a keyboard, I think you should uninstall the game and move on. There is no benefits to be mad at video game.

In my opinion, what makes you mad is because the design of this game. Playing aggressive and make action doesn't give you any advantage in this game like other fighting game, it's better to just stay at the center of the stage and play passive so you can have more option which is to be honest is not really that fun, but effective. Also the accuracy movement at this game is so tight, even though you make the right read, sometime your action won't hit because how movement works in this game. It is frustrating.

Honestly, in my respectful opinion, just quit this game. It's not worth it my friend.

I'm not extremely well-documented on this as well, but I suppose compared to most fighting games, Brawlhalla involves just as much tactics, but less strategy. The fact that you've got so much freedom of movement makes it really easy to get away from a string and reset encounters, so everything happens in the moment and you don't have to plan ahead so much.
The reward for exploiting a positioning mistake from your opponent is usually significantly smaller in BH than in Street Fighter and most other fighting games. Maybe that's what you're after ?

Also, even if toxic behaviours are a thing in every online game and especially fighting games, it just happens so much in Brawlhalla. Not even mentioning taunts (which would deserve an essay on their own), I feel like there's a lot of options in this game for uninteresting play. I'd fight a passive Guile over a passive Mordex every day of the year.

You know I really used to like this game, when I would play against bots - alone. I played so much that I was able to easily 3 stock a chosen bot unarmed. But then I started playing online. (Ranked). The community is so toxic and the worst is when a spammer taunts on you after you got beaten by them, knowing that youre supposed to be better than them. And secondly, Im from South Africa, the furthest place from any server, so cant get any good connection. I dont know why they dont have south african servers, because many people play the game hear, but the developers keep telling us that they are going to put in some servers, but those are just some empty promises.

Conclusion -
I am sick of this game

rage does not exist when you play for fun and in a state of joy , take a brake or switch games till you find joy again

You know I hear this a lot and I get it, particularly for 2v2s. And I agree if youre not having fun, stop playing.

What people often neglect is the variety of game modes and the custom rooms, ffas are typically just dumb fun and there are many modes that seem less toxic like crew battle and such.

Its also a bit harder to act like a doodle when youre in the same room as a bunch of other people and ostensibly dont want to get kicked from the room.

It just is. This game is evil. Some people play for fun. Everyone else dumps all their hatred and desperation into it. They sneer and taunt when they're winning. But if you're winning, you can hear their very souls shrieking across the void, wishing your existence would cease.

Pay attention; you will feel them clawing at the doors of your sanctum, gnashing their teeth, and uttering unspeakable curses upon you and your kin. Once I wished to stand stalwart against this demonic spite. But I became tired and had to withdraw. To save my own health.

It is no mere game. Brawlhalla is a window into another person's soul. It so purely translates emotion and intent that it seems to reach right out of the screen. For someone like me, it is pure poison. My sensitivity allows me to play with a high degree of accuracy. It also makes me susceptible to these psychic daggers which aim at my very heart.

Some of the people who play this game absolutely would kill you if they could. I guarantee it.

Escape, warrior. Flee this wretched place and never return. Play a better game. Leave the damned to their fate.

Agreed... Everyday when I come home from school, I decide to play a game just to get me into a good mood, but facing these extremely toxic playeers is just so not cool and just ends up ruining my entire day

That which does not kill you.... Because there will always be people who push the buttons of others and those that simply don't have the mental fortitude to withstand them. The button-pushers victim's then get the button-pushers shut down and so begins the viscous cycle. This game isn't for everyone to pursue competitively for sure. You had better learn self-control first, which is probably true for everything in life.
