Please tell me your opinions, never played any MMO before, but I like all the story driven FF games. Is it possible to play this normally alone or maybe can the game just match me with some other people in multiplayer-only instances automatically?

Yes. This is my first and only MMO, and i play it pretty much solo since ARR release.

You have to do group content as part of the story. But all story content and some of the normal difficulty stuff is constantly ran from the duty finder. So you wont have much trouble finding groups with matchmaking.

I did everything solo with just the duty finder.

mm to certain point you can solo dungions with trust npcs if your leveling at that point

Definitely worth it ! I myself hate playing MMORPGs with friends cause then I cannot really focus on the story and the progression. But since FF14 is a very story focused MMO it really isn't a problem playing alone. And even if you reach endgame you can use the community finder to join a guild and make new friends, just as I did.

I reached endgame in endwalker mostly avoiding entering any FC(guild), you'll only be forced to play with people on dungeon and trials content(which are super easy) and even then in the shadowbringers expansion they introduced an option to run dungeons with AI characters from the story.

yea for sure, a big chunk is solo actually and the coop content is very easy to find groups quickly

You can just auto match dungeons, you don't need to get out of your way to find people yourself. Don't worry.

Absolutely, the community is very friendly. You won’t be solo for long, trust me! I’ve already met 5-6 people who I talk to on here who are awesome. This game is one of the best games I’ve ever played with one of the best communities I’ve ever been part of.

Also! Sometimes long time players give out stuff to new players, regularly community gives away stuff to each other (at least on Adamantoise) and public concerts happen a lot. Lots of cool stuff :D
