My friend and I wanted to see what the new flashbang lines are, but when either of us got hit with a flashbang, the heisters didn't say anything. We tried regular flashbangs, the marshal shields, and the throwable.

They would say at least something like "Grenade!" "Fire in the hole!" and other regular grenade-throwing quotes
Maybe those newer characters don't have them
or you were using modded characters that don't have those lines

what characters were you 2 playing?

OP doesn't mean the grenade throwing lines, he means the character lines when they get hit with a flashbang.
Bodhi, for instance, screams "My eyes!" or "aaah, it burned my eyes!" and things to that effect.

I was playing as Dallas and he was Houston. I was hosting and I didn't have any mods installed. He only has Wolfhud.

i did had them played but idk how often that happens, maybe it just doesnt happen every time

It's worth mentioning that WolfHUD is horribly outdated. Most people use VanillaHUD+ these days.

As for the Flashbang lines, I've heard them a handful of times as Jimmy - they definitely don't trigger every time you get flashed; but (at least for Jimmy) they're playing.

That's good to know. I'll try to trigger the lines in a solo game and see if that makes a difference.

So OP, I've tried a few games, and they do trigger, but only if you're right on top of the grenade or the Marshall shield is almost literally in your face.
I'm not entirely sure if that is intended or not, only Overkill can comment on that.

Yeah, I just got done trying to trigger some of the lines and I wasn't able to. In case the results you got are not intended, I'll keep this topic up.

I think it might be proximity based, just had an instant where I sat almost on the flash but with my back towards the explosion, while it wasn't as bad as facing it head on, it still triggered Dallas' voiceline.

Also, @OP; did you play offline solo or online but private lobby?
Because some things don't work offline, this may (perhaps even unintentionally) be one of them.

I played offline solo.

Next time, go online with bots, and set the lobby to private, see what happens.
Or just play a round online.

Ok. So I was playing just a few minutes ago and I finally heard Dallas say his line. I guess it just doesn't play very often.

I have the opposite issue, but I know it is because of mods, where the flashbang voice lines for the character I play saying them twice when flashed.

This is an issue with Vocal heisters, I think
