Just died to a trio on the server I play on that is a trio max group size as I was farming the road with a sword while they were at excavator they then killed me with an L96 claiming that they needed to defend themselves as I was a "threat" to them.

Honestly this game is toxic but at least have the balls to say "We find it fun to shoot prim players" rather then hiding behind an lame excuse of "Needing to defend ourselves and the excavator"

That's the basis of the game?

Find their base, TC grief, landmine and door camp. Offline them once they leave the server.

If they ask why, you can respond with something such as: "I needed to defend myself as a solo player. Your base may be several grids away from mine, but I decided that you were a threat. Sorry about that."

Extra bonus points if you ladder in, grab their heli and smash it or molly their scrappy. Another good strat is to build a tower as close as you can and build like 4-6 spotlights and point them directly at their base and roof and just roof camp their front door.

I dont think it requires balls to say that, it just requires being genuine about everything you say. Since this is a video game, you cant really expect everyone to be genuine and straight forward all the time.

Theyre in a discord worried about real counters, and have probably already sniped a few people with guns, so any naked coming back in the area could easily pick up the gun and be a threat, so its not that unrealistic that they would shoot you.

Plus, you dont sound like you were farming in a very good location since you can see the Excavator moving from half a map away and should assume theres someone up there with guns ready to defend one of the best monuments in the game.

Doesn't matter. Prim can kill someone with an LR.

Yeah, you were. All it takes it for 1 prim to sneak up unnoticed with a double barrel, take out one guy and then take out the rest with the late game gun he picked up from the guy he db'd. It's not hard to do on excavator, the hardest part is sneaking up, once you are on then it's easy. There is little space to maneuver, the guy who sneaked up would kill each member in a 1v1 before they could even organise some sort of a plan.

I did the mistake of sparing a random guy once. I won't do it again. He wrecked all 4 of us that day by a suprise attack with just an eoka while we were trying to create the longest train on the rust server. We were spread out across the train and he just took out the first guy and then the rest of us with the lr he picked up, and since the train is in a straight line we were basically lined up on his full spray.

This is also the reason why people kill nakeds. You never know if that naked you just didn't decide to shoot won't stab you in the back 1 minute later after his eoka finishes crafting.

By killing you, they eliminated a possible threat. Even if a prim guy like you in that scenario managed to take down ONLY ONE of their members, that's one member less for a long time if they don't have spare vehicles to arrive back on the scene, or closeby sleeping bags. That lack of a single member can be the difference between their entire team failing to protect the excavator in case of a counter and fighting the counter off.

This is a hard game and you cannot trust anyone, sometimes not even your teammates if you met them on a random server.

Most every single other person who plays Rust would simply observe their mistake and give exca an extra wide berth going forward. You though, decided to dwell on it to the point of posting about it here.
