Fix The Store Pricing
Thus far, I've only purchased one item from the Mallhalla. Namely, a spear skin for 40 Mammoth Coins, which translates to about $2, because I thought that was a fair price. You know what's not a fair price? $3 for a taunt. More than $6 for a costume. A costume! I could get a playable character in Killer Instinct for less than that!! I'm absolutely terrified about how expensive you'd make the legends, at this rate!

Legends will be in the free rotation and you will be able to unlock them without buying them. And I dont know but skins seem like more change to the character than a weapon skin to me, so if they are more expensive its just fine. Oh and taunts are for fun, $3 seems way cheaper than a skin if you think about the time spent to do an animation for it and you can use it on all chars.

But that's just it. This isn't LoL. This isn't a MOBA, it is a fighting game and I shall treat it as such. In a space where downloadable characters are $5 a piece and costumes and other cosmetic effects are less than that, I find the whole $6+ costume thing to be rather insulting. You want to sell those costumes for a couple bucks a piece? Because that's what I'd pay. And I'd probably buy every single costume for a couple bucks a piece. But I just got Lethal League for a little over that asking price during the Steam sale last weekend. You can't convince me on your current business model, man!
And to be honest, I feel the same way about LoL's costumes, too. I mean, more than $10 for a costume? No way in hell I'd be willing to part with that much money for a costume like that.

Melwing replied to Fix The Store Pricing November 14, 2014 @ 4:23:42 pm PSTWhile I'm not typically one to pay for anything that's purely cosmetic, I have to agree that those prices do seem to be pretty steep. I wager the devs would probably make a lot more money if they were cheaper (because of how many more they'd sell), so lower prices would most likely be *BETTER* for the game.
Or perhaps offer an option like SMITE does to pay one fee and basically have everything unlocked for future releases. $50 or what have you.

Zalno replied to Fix The Store Pricing November 14, 2014 @ 4:27:01 pm PSTKiller Instinct does that, too. You can pay $20 for a season and get all of the characters in that season (including unreleased ones), or $40 for all the characters and costumes. Granted, they throw in ports of the old KI games into the $40 ones, but at least they give you the option to bundle all of them for a decent-ish price.
