I played Civ VI twice yesterday, but today it simply won't launch. Something appears to try to start, steam changes the PLAY button to STOP (I think, but definitely not PLAY) and the "half-busy" mouse pointer appears for a while. Then the pointer becomes an arrow again and steam changes the button back to PLAY.

I've had no Windows 10 updates in the past 16 hours. I tried rebooting. I tried the scan/repair local game files thing in steam. I even allowed nVidia to update the video driver for my GTX1080, but the launcher program for Civ VI still doesn't start.

Are there logs I can check or anything else I can look at? I'd rather not be forced to totally remove and reinstall Civ just because it is Sunday.

I just found instructions for bypassing the launcher and Steam will once again start Civ VI just fine. So somehow, the launcher broke. Oh well, no great loss as it was just an annoying and pointless step in startup anyway.
