After a windows 10 update last night ("Install update and shutdown Windows 10"), Civ6 fails to start this morning... launcher comes, up the civ6 process starts but after a while it just hangs. I tried both DX11 and DX12, several restarts, nothing helps. Anyone else has seen this?

Disable the launcher to begin with, here is a link to a pinned thread in this forum. The original post shows a link to how to do this as the "answer":

By the way, it is possible that something else is the actual issue, Steam does some flaky stuff sometimes, but I'd still start with bypassing the launcher as it is a steaming pile to begin with. And also it is unnecessary.

Besides skipping the launcher, make sure to verify game files, especially if it fails after an OS or driver update.

Quit playing around midnight last night. Installed some update and went to sleep. Woke up today to game crashing on the world screen. Then it started crashing while loading and eventually crashed in the menu browsing settings. Then I realized about the windows update. Uninstalled both entries in the update log. Game working flawlessly now.

update: after 24 hours of 'I'll never play CIV6 again'-angriness, I did another small windows update, I forced nVIdia graphic drivers update, and did a full 'verify local file integrity' in steam, And now Civ VI starts again...
