I should be able to drag balls just outside offstump to leg with cross bat. The risk associated with the shots can be high/ the timing window can be small but not unplayable. The shot was there in the initial versions of the game but gone after patches. Currently the only way to to it is to walk to offstump before the delivery bowled.
