does anyone else struggle as Juliana

I try my best but damn ... the first 5-6 fights I kicked ass but now im winning 1 out of 10. I try a loadout, i especially like the snipers and auto shotgun (can't remember names right now) but all the colts now are taking obscenely long routes to keep themselves hidden and i can't just rush them cause i only have the one shot to kill him 3 times. I could camp at the antenna but there are either not enough hiding spots or the spots i find don't give enough view cause he can hack it from farther away in any direction.

I just feel that setting traps and stealthily tracking down colt is just ... ineffective now. They are all too good to get the jump on. ... ALSO IM GETTING 2 SHOT A LOT, WHATS UP WITH THAT. i get health boost trinkets for a reason.

anyone got any tips to better take on high tier Colt players?

Use Havoc and machete, along with health upgrades, and find that you can kill Colt in like 2-3 strikes and if you spin around him it makes it even more of a pain cause he'll have to track you with whatever gun at high speeds because of the close proximity.

sounds like a plan but there is still the matter of finding him. sometimes he finds me first.

Health trinkets are kinda useless, in my experience.

It's way better to get defensive ones instead.

About weapons...

Never take Snipers with you, they are horrible in general, outside PvE, I had tons of oppertunities to hit headshots and it took me 3 headshots on stationary targets to kill them. No clues if they even registered as headshots (considering not, as I didn't trigger the feat of doing so after the match, not getting bonus points), so it's even worse due lag, connection issues, etc. The netcode is broken.

Beast weapons consist of
- shotguns which create poison clouds
- Anything shooting relativly fast with Snare (slowing enemies which get hit), my favorite would be the Strelak Verso
- Explosive Rifle seems to do tons of damage. It does seem to one shot on anyone not getting any defensive perks (not sure if you need to increase dmg with that perk which lowers your defenses for offense though)
- double shot - shotgun. A beast in close quarter.

Lightning strikes (increases range at which your weapon does maximum damage) and Mind Sap (damage also damages mind/mana) are the best weapon trinkets in PvP. Nothing beats them.

With Mind Sap equipped, paired with Snare... no one will be able to escape you because they will be low on mana permanently after getting hit once, also being slowed for easier hits if you use Snare on a gun.

------

Shift with increased range is great
Karnesis or Aether seem the only viable options to me. If you play Karnesis, just get the "Bubble" upgrade, Aether is great with "Flicker" and the one which doesn't drain mana while standing still.

------------

Double Jump is nice, and it seems it's more important than Shift. If you drop Shift, get faster movement speed for an trinket paired with double jump.

And like previously mentioned: turtle shell seems way stronger than increased health, like two or even three times as effective.

------------

I like to rush high ground and being able to spectate Colt on start. Not setting up anything.

It's just annoying as hell to kill him too early and making him revive inside his tunnels, so learn how far away they need to be to not have that happen and kill him once he reaches that point. He is now stuck at running away/hiding (thankfully no one thought of just killing themselves or having NPC's kill them to reach tunnnels again) and once he is far away enough, again, kill him and just rush where he should spawn for an easy third kill.

---------

And playing as Julianna is dumb, if Colt doesn't want to get found out, you won't be able to do it at all. There is nothing you can do as Julianna at all. He can camp, he can also just go through multiply tunnels to just avoid you (like in Updam for example, either spawning at the cliffs or near the candy shop, and ofc candy shop is the superior choice 99% of the time), etc.

And ofc he only needs to kill you once, while you have to takes risks, idiotic risks, to just being able to compete. I am not even sure if you can follow him everywhere to begin with, especially when it concerns hidden rooms, etc.

---------

Something big you can do: pick up an nullifier and drop it close to colt if you get the oppertunity to do so. If you kill him inside it, he is dead, as his revive ability gets disabled in there. Most maps have one hidden away, rather easy to access.

Imagine playing multiplayer mode only to go out of your way to avoid the julianna fight

I can do WHAT?! ... aw ♥♥♥♥ yeah, im testing that out at some point. also a little off topic but not really ...

I DON'T KNOW WHICH OF YOU JERKS IT WAS BUT GET BETTER INTERNET! I fought someone in fristad rock, who was using dial-up it was so bad. despite the incredibly laggy, rubber banding, combat, i still won (somehow). also, to the ass that dropped connection as soon as i got you for the third time in updaam noon ... I STILL GOT THE FEAT FOR KILLING YOU 3 TIMES HA.

... that is all.

Fun tip: Kill Colt inside the recording studio when he's wearing a ClassPass.

It's pretty easy to avoid doing that as Colt, it only takes a second for you to look at the doors from the inside.
I did spoil a Juliana's welcome party they set up around Frank, going full loud and slapping everyone around with Karnesis. All while they watched from Frank's room, surrounded by turrets that got no use.

Strategy and different loadouts.

I'm not great either, but the "Explosives heal you now" one was a game changer for me. Yes, I give up being able to booby trap the hackable points, but I can self-heal and last longer in fights I would ordinarily be whittled away in because I swear Julianna has lower HP starting out than Colt.

AS for abilities, Havok is useful, along with shift, but building loadouts that DONT revolve around shift is a lot of fun. I have seen some deadly playstyles that revolve around Karnesis or Nexus.

True lol. Or Colt can also enter from below without ever putting a class pass, and, if he has a password, he can even disable all call pass doors.

I find snipers pretty useful honestly. Just dont expect a one shot. Damn, even fully charged headshot with coiled snake perk can be survivable with right trinkets. Although be wary that your sights glare like in some COD Warzone, when you ADS with sniper rifle.

It is really good i agree, but sometimes the lag is so messy even that can failt you. Strelak 50-50 pure ballistic suppression is more usable generally, imo.

Also, double pistol transformer Strelak Verso seems to have the best DPS to me. I might be wrong tho, no damage numbers or weapon stats display in this game.

Machete is a real cheese. Btw, it kills Colt exactly in two hits. It seems to be hardcoded, the same way as for any NPC. Second hit always triggers assasination animation. Also the same is true if you are in Aether (invisibility). Pick Aether with perks which make it persist even when you get hit, and you can just one shot Colts in the face because you are invisible.

Also, probably the same with sliding: if you slide into (or Shift into) Colt and press attack directly after, it might oneshot him aswell. But i am not 100% sure about this one. Works on NPCs tho.

As for a tip: try protecting Visioniers, not the antenna. It is usually way easier.
