If Melina is daughter to Marika and Ranni is daughter to Renalla, does it mean, that Radagon (literally the same person as Marika) banged Renalla and got somehow pregnant, turned into Marika and gave birth to Melina? So that Marika could be at the same time mother to Melina and father to Ranni? Or how does it work?

Melina and ranni are not related and are not the same person as far as we know. If the marika Radagon theory is correct, then they are half sisters. If you hadn’t noticed already, George R R Martin has a rule in which demigods that are named have to have a name with the same forts letter of their parents. For example renalla and Radagon have children ranni rykard and radahn all starting with r, and marika and Godfrey have the ‘em twin omens mohg and morgott starting with m, and Godwyn the golden starting with g. Most people believe that Melina is the secret child of marika and Radagon that they had after the twin prodigies betrayed the golden order. They likely kept Melina a secret since by nature she is smaller and definitely weaker than the other gods.

My personal theory is that Melina was taken to far away lands to learn holy magic, and while she was gone ranni masterminded the death of Godwyn and caused the shattering. Melina returns to the capital which is being protected by morgott, and because she has not yet betrayed the order she lets her pass to the erdtree. There she is given her mission by marika and therefore conspires against the golden order, causing morgott to chase her out of leyndell. This is what I beleived happened because it both explains why no one knows of Melina by name, explains her relationship to marika, AND explains why she offers to help you fight morgott, instead of any other boss.

They're not. That photo we've all seen is doctored, their ingame faces do not match, nor do their scars. They also have zero lore ties that I have been able to find (and I've really tried).

The eyes being closed on opposite sides is either coincidence or a red herring. They're not the only characters focused around the concept of "eyes" after all.

The closest I can think of is the naming convention and the fact there is something hinted at involving Torrent.


But I personally believe the Frenzy Flame ending cutscene confirms she's the Gloam Eyed Queen.

Well they were both the daughters of Radagon, so the naming convention would make sense. And yeah the torrent thing, problem with that being we know so little in regards to that. For all we know that's just a graphical effect to represent "this person is a spirit with no body".

True, the Torrent bit feels like cut content, but hopefully the DLC touches on that.
