Why should we be hunted like cattle by those filthy invaders with 10,000 hours of playtime? I just want to enjoy the game with my friends.

Play solo and summon only when help is really needed.

You can always go offline, I believe. I don't like it either, but sometimes it can make for an interesting experience.

Have everyone play solo on separate PC's in separate games but in the same area with discord open so you still get to play together, no telepathy needed.

You can exercise your right of playing a different game.

PVP is part of the game champ. If you don't like it don't buy it.

Are you talking in-game with friends, or on something like Discord? Coz you can always just turn off Steams access to online.

This isn't sarcasm, I am trash at invading but the top reason I saw people die with my preference for purple mad mound covenant in DS3 (goal: Kill ANYONE, including other invaders) was my attacking a "Only here to kill the host" red phantom.... Then the co-op friends attacking me, letting the red dude kill the host.

While there will always be turbo tryhard invaders, the latest Souls games have also had weapon upgrade based co-op gates. So if they keep that up, then if you were intending to try and co-op the entire game with some friends you could keep your weapon levels low on purpose to reduce the pool of invaders... though I forget if password summons messed with that?

It is part of the experience. Going offline or steering clear are healthy suggestions I'm afraid.

To put in perspective, not even the most hardcore of coop players(ie jolly sun bros) were complaining about invasions in DS.....they just went along with it because they understood it was part and parcel of the game. On the contrary, they relished teaming up with others to deal with invaders.

Dealing with invaders is a nerf for the buff that is coop

Some of them seemed more mad when I healed the host than if I accidentally hit them with my sword and they let me live, which I never quite got.

God, Mound Maker life was too good for this sinful world.

It reminds of people who complain that others tryhard in multiplayer and ruining the fun…
