Between this version of FM that was actually fairly decent and the most recent one of FM23 which is absolutely trash? I mean you dont see every highlight on this one being the result of long balls from the defenders and goalkeepers nor do you see the absolute stupidity of the goalkeepers from FM23 here...... just wondering what you guys think happened to the FM match engine because the franchise has become so trash on its latest edition

FM22 had the very aggravating bug of goalkeepers kicking the ball to the other side of the pitch, a world class defender always missing the header and leaving the ball to a poacher. The fact that this still pops up regularly on FM23 made me confident in staying in 21.

2021 is better? That's worrying as it's full of AI disgusting cheats, consistently BS. I heavily abuse the editor as I no longer care. I've seen enough, it's biased af to the AI. Players with 8 lopngs shots smashing them in haha
And when I say abuse the editor I don't mean putting all the stats to 20, that would be boring. I just tweak them. They are still using an ME that wouldn't look out of place in 2000.

You wanna see the FM23 match engine lol, 3 in freekick smashing in perfect top corner shots 15+ times per season lol, theirs so many other issues with the match engine that I wont even detail them here as I'll be here for hours but in short yes, FM21 has a far superior match engine to FM23, the sheer amount of people the devs have banned from the FM23 for pointing out the trash in its match engine since their last update has been disgusting to see. They refuse criticism which doesnt bode well for the next few editions of the game, just milking it for all its worth at this point so go back to a previous edition you think is good and stick with it for the next few years.

FM's match engine is something from the past. It was a broken trash in FM21, it still that way in FM23. The series is decaying with lack of competitors. The set of tactical instructions is so sad for the game that positions itself true immersive football manager sim that it's almost a joke, if not to mention set pieces. The only good thing about it is the army of researchers that give a lot of info about new prospects for football geek fans.

Well, unfortunately I think SI has a big problem with the match-engine code. I mean seriously FM23 feels totally wrong in all directions how the match-engine shows the game. It was a big step backward. And I dont even speak about the cringe hits against the post and bar in every game. Its so unrealistic and destroys any immersion.
