Doesn't matter how long, what matters is when people feel like buying it for example it could be 75% off tomorrow and I still won't buy it because Destiny 2 Witch Queen is in less than a week and as a bonus if I wait then there may be RTX support, new map, and freelance mode by the time I'd be interested in picking it up.

It's hard to not take it personally... but let's not forget that they shot themselves in the foot with their free "upgrade". As a result they could not offer a discount to Steam players before that date.

Wrong... they basically had to do this because greedy folks complained about literally everything but first and foremost the pricetag but within 30 days of release they were not allowed to do a sale.

Discounts for seasonal sale events cannot be run within 30 days of releasing your title or 30 days from when your launch discount ends.

Sidenote: On release there was the Lunar New Year sale event already ongoing

So they basically had to do SOMETHING to satisfy the greedy community and THEREFORE they brought up this "free upgrade" idea.

If you paid 120$ for this game I respect your choice, kudos for helping the studio, but greed is subjective you know. I have a nice plastic bag lying around that can be yours for 200$, don't tell me you are a greedy person and buy it come on !

Or maybe they thought they could milk "generous" Steam players by selling overpriced content... just an assumption. But sadly we are sooo greedy that the sales on Steam are pathetic... oh god why are we so greedy around here !

I waited for a year, kept checking steam and steamdb in Jan, now they made us wait again and i keep checking for the sale again, I couldve played this a year ago and be done with it, there are no laws in my country for that. people who pirate really live the simple life and we pay and they f with us.

Oh so IOI thinking they could double dip with a fully paid EGS launch and then a full price Steam launch a full year later isn't greedy?

Or how about the escalation contracts that cost the same price of the full game?

And a "trilogy" pack that doesn't even include complete games and requires a second "trilogy" pack to get all the story missions.

The game is now on Steam was there is no one making you wait unless you're really just waiting for a discount which just like waiting for Steam is your decision and not IOI.

I really don't think they'll put the game on sale this soon. The free upgrade essentially gave people a 33% discount if they bought the regular edition and received the deluxe upgrade. If they put the game on sale for more than 33% in the near future, that will screw over everyone who bought the base game at release. I predict H3 won't go on sale until the Summer Sale.

IOI are the greedy ones. They took a bribe that specifically screwed over Steam users, and then didn't give a launch discount when they finally allowed us to buy the game a year later. Epic users were given multiple sales and were given 60% off just weeks before the steam release at full price. The free upgrade was a corporate non-apology - if you do the math it still doesn't give Steam the same level of discount that Epic was given.

Games put early big discounts due to lack of sales or bad rep, i mean look at BF2042. I dont think people would have any problems if they put up a sale now thats its supposed to have in the first place. The ratio of people waiting for discount and who bought it is probably 5:1, they had 1 month of early access and its on them they paid full price because clearly money isnt an issue for them, they dont care.
