extreme loading times

Are thees extreme loading times "normal" in HZD?
I need 3 to 5 minutes for loading a savegame.

It could be normal. Depends largely on your your hardware.

Even if you have it on an SSD, other things could slow it down such as CPU speed, RAM amount and bandwidth.

PC specs will be helpful here but yeah generally a minimum of a Sata SSD is recommended.

Compiling. Not loading. And they're not "color shaders".

Oy.

45 sec here, put your game on another SSD separetely from Windows. Already tested in 2 CPU's and it's same loading time. My loading time was 4~5 minutes when using on HDD or SSD with Windows.

Are you letting the shaders optimize before loading a save? Doing so will greatly reduce the amount of time spent on all loading screens.

Anecdotally I can say this really does have an effect. If I let the shaders compile the loading screen is basically like BAM.

Too impatient :-D
I´ve got all games on a seperate drive but if thats not enought I guess i have to wait for the shaders.

This thread is useless, im using an nvme, in perspecticve, I load into FF XIV with thousands of others surrounding me and all assets are loaded and loading takes roughly 3 seconds.

Days Gone takes the EXACT SAME SPECS as Horizon yest, Days Gone takes me 3 seconds to load a game.

Horizon takes 3 to 5 minutes and can cause your CPU to hit 90c to 100c.

Perspective, Day's Gone, max settings, 1440p = 60 fps steady 100% o the time.

Horizon lowest settings ever, still runs like garbage and takes up to, depending on time of day, 10 minutes to ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ load the game.

Both are open world. Both take the same specs.

My specs, RTX 2070 and 16 gigs of ram and an i7 10750H and yes, I run 99% of my games at either 1440p or 4k at 60fps.

So, decided to do a test on my desktop, same specs except video card s a 2080 and still nothing,m both using nvme sticks.

TLDR : Buy the game on Playstation and play it that way. I did.

AND FYI, letting shaders load, still takes 5 to 10 minutes, your just loading ther shaders on the home screen, no effect to load shaders on a loading SPLASH SCREEN. Meaning wither waiting for shaders before loading does NOTHING as you have to wait 5 to 10 minutes for the shaders to load.

Check my steam, last night I got 10% shaders loaded, after waiting 4 minutes and my CPU fixing to explode.

This port is garbage and has been since day one, even the devs said the game was broke on PC, hell, the only REASON i BOUGHT WAS steam TOLD ME THE GAME WAS FIXED....

How is it useless? People have different load times and you just so happen to have terrible load times. Mine isn't even on my SSD and I get in within a few seconds everytime and yes shaders are loaded.

Also, no idea why you are comparing Day's Gone and Horizon, just cause they have the same specs? Completely different engines and sure, HZD is runs pretty terribly for for what you get in terms of quality but if anything in this thread is useless, it's that comparison. FYI, I have a GTX 1080, Ryzen 7 2700 and, I'm running HZD at 1440p, high/medium with pretty constant 60 but it only drops if I'm in a village. Also, maxed out Day's gone at 1440p with constant 60.

Man, you really gotta fix your cpu cooling if you're hitting 90+ during shader compiling.

Also: 4k/60 on a 2070? You're so full of it.

Yes 4k on a 2070 and 4k on my 2080 on my desktop. CPU cooling is fine. Idle 22c max 100c HZD only, every other game is at no higher than 60c.

Also I play on a 65 inch 4k tv.

Heres my PC set up and yes, that is a 1440p monitor : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fBYMQWNJ0PA

My set ups are on point, your mad because the game sucks for you as well and like most, they spent their money so their afraid to speak out, make themselves look dumb, I recieved a free copy, even though I beat the game on PS4 and yes I can link my PS account for proof since you seem to doubt everything.

You got people telling OP to put his ♥♥♥♥ on an SSD or NVME and im here telling you that it does not work that way.

Sorry. And btw, you just proved my point about the game running like ♥♥♥♥.

ALSO, post a video of you loading in the game and shaders loading in seconds for you, this I would love to see.

Dude, I've put 150 hours into the game at 1440. Neither my cpu or gpu have hit 70C once while playing or while compiling.

Your laptop cooling sucks.

And you're just flat out lying about doing 4k/60 on a laptop 2070.

Also: 120mm aio on an i7.

♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ no wonder you have cooling issues.

This is why you don't buy prebuilts.
