Troubleshooting Guidelines

We are sorry to hear that you're experiencing issues within the game and we would love to find a solution for every single problem out there!

Keep in mind that some issues might require actions on your side so let's clarify a couple of things. :cozycrashfish:

Let's divide the common issues into five categories:
1. Lost save files - when you lose your in-game progress.
2. Bugs - when the game doesn't work right thus having a negative impact on your gameplay.
3. Crashes - when your game uncontrollably closes during loading / gameplay.
4. Obnoxiously long loading times - pretty self explanatory!
5. Surprisingly low fps - when according to your PC specifications, the game should run much better.

In case of lost saves:

- Go through the following instructions on how to attempt to get your save files back: How to restore lost save files [krej-net.atlassian.net]

In case of bugs:

- Verify the integrity of game files: Go to Steam Library > right-click on House Flipper > Properties > Local Files Tab > Verify integrity of game files.

- Reinstall the game.

- Try installing the game on a different drive / different directory!

In case of crashes, obnoxiously long loading times, surprisingly low fps:

- First of all, check if your machine meets the minimum requirements shown on the House Flipper Store Page (I know most of you did that already, but I'm putting it here just in case. Keep in mind that sometimes it's possible for a PC that doesn't meet the minimum requirements to run the game, but it may change after any update!).

- Try to reduce your setting values to a minimum and check if it improves the situation and how big of a performance boost can be seen (that's some valuable info)!

- Verify the integrity of game files: Go to Steam Library > right-click on House Flipper > Properties > Local Files Tab > Verify integrity of game files.

- Try unsubscribing to the recently subscribed Steam Workshop Items.

- Try running House Flipper in a DirectX 10 mode: After you click "Play" in the Steam Library, check the option "Play House Flipper (force DirectX feature lvl 10.0)".

- Check if your graphics card drivers are up to date.

- Check if your system is up to date.

- Reinstall the game or try installing it in a different directory / different drive.

- In case of a black screen on startup try pasting "--skip-logo" command in Steam launch options for House Flipper: Go to Steam Library > right-click on House Flipper > Properties, and when a new window pops up you can see "Launch options" at the bottom.

- Find the in-game FPS Limiter option (located in the Graphics tab - the V-sync option has to be disabled for you to see it). Now, use your task manager (Alt+Ctrl+Del) to monitor your GPU load (in the performance tab), and play around with the in-game FPS limiter to keep your GPU load under 90% at all times (the lower you set your FPS cap to, the less amount of frames will be produced by your graphics card per second, thus giving the graphics card some room to breathe and reducing the load).

If the steps listed above don't seem to help, you can report the issue in a separate thread in the "Bugs & Crashes" subforum or use our support ticket system[krej-net.atlassian.net]
