So, someone thoroughly tested each armour for physical defence against an animal.
In this vid he tests with a wolf. It does the same damage and takes the same amount of hits to kill you no matter which armour you are wearing. Even no armour at all takes the same amount. Armour physical defence is BROKEN.

Wow what a joke. That wolf even deals 60 damage to stone structures. I knew it, I have mentioned this as a negative point in my review. Thought I am the only one who thinks like that. No matter what you wear, 1-2 hits from a polar bear and you are done. There is NO armor system in this game. Yeah sure this game is a full and finished project........ What a joke

Hahah I’m sure it was just never implemented. They went through anyway, they knew all the numbers and descriptions were meaningless but decided to get them in the game anyway to trick the players into thinking it was a feature… a key and basic feature in any game in any genre btw.

What an absolute shame of developing, disrespecting your clients and treating them like idiots who do not deserve a functional game. You should feel ashamed. You may have money know but the stink left behind by being a scammer doesn’t shower away

I felt this was the case and couldn't be bothered to test it, but just my feeling as I played with various armor and shop items is that they made really no difference. I could see the stat for run speed and felt myself move faster, that is about the only one that seemed to make any difference at all. Hot and Cold resist also, I couldnt tell you if it does anything at all.

Wondered about this myself. I could never tell any difference in damage reduction no matter what armor set I wore (or no armor at all, for that matter).

The appalling thing is just how hard you have to work to get the polar bear armour in the hopes that predators will stop killing you. And it's ALL FOR NOTHING?

Last update they said that most of their team had returned to work after xmas. So are we going to see some significant improvements in the next update tomorrow or was that all lies as well?

Jesus f***ing christ... on top of the metric f***tonne of failures and bugs this game already has, how does one manage to f*** up the coding for armor mitigating incoming damage...
That is some of the most basic ♥♥♥♥ that games have been getting right since at least as early as Half Life 1...
There is NO excuse for this ♥♥♥♥.

Cold and heat protection appear to work at least. Doesn't polar bear armor have better cold resistance than fur armor?

heat cold and exposiore, or speed buffs works but yes armore resistence or over all pysical resistence is not working

Well that should be an easy coding fix. Needs attention asap.

Fixing something this significant should be of the highest priority. I want to laugh but I am more shocked than anything. Big "pants down" moment.

Wait, people have only just realised this? I always felt physical resistance did absolutely nothing since day 1, but just assumed the amounts offered were so minimal that it wasn't noticeable. Now I'm running with the carbon armour from workshop, it's pretty clear phys resistance does nothing at all.

This should have been fixed over a month ago, how this wasn't picked up in testing is questionable at best. Then again, a huge amount of things that are going on with this game are questionable as well. I guess time will tell if this is another cash grab and run, or whether they'll actually bother to fix it up and make this game worthy of a 1.0 release they claim this to be.
