it doesnt, its just lazy game design. fix the UI, its awful. Add tooltips or somthing so you know wtf your doing. Relying on 3rd party information to figure out the game is god awful game design.

There's a tutorial and a written survival guide. It certainly does tell you how to play.

I just bought a table then threw away the assembly instructions and half the screws, now I can't figure out how to put it together. What's up with these awful lazy companies?

Theres is an incredible amount of information not present in the game regarding the games systems, thats a problem, one that many will never even know till the watch somone else play it. all there needs to be is a tool tip on each item when hovered explaining what this item is used for/capable of. problem solved, but nope that would require too much work apparently. If this was in fact fully realistic noone would need those things but its not real its a game and we are limited to using the items for what the devs intended them for with zero hint as to what that is. washing machene needs water, ok i have water, common sence would tell you to pour it in, but nope thats not in the games code so there is some specicfic way to accomplish the goal of cleaning the blood off your clothes, but do they tell you? nope, why not? lazy thats why, cuz they know the player base will make thier own information, which again, is horrid game design.

Or... you know it's still in early access and they've been more focused on adding the actual content and getting it to work in the first place? They've stated their next few updates will be to clean some stuff up so it's possible they may do some work in that area too. The game wouldn't be nearly what it is if they had to spend all their time on that stuff first, especially when there are so many easy ways for the player to learn themselves.

I understand this to mean you wish the main gameplay experience for all to be a huge tutorial for those who made zero effort to take in the huge amount of youtube video's, player guides ect. It would ruin the game for the majority who did make the effort to learn.

Hit the B key. I lists everything needed to craft a certain object. How much hand holding do you need?

Yeah I agree the tutorial could be better and far more in depth, I think even the devs have admitted to this and are working on a better tutorial. I would assume most logical people would agree with such an assesment, But it seems the fanboys are coming out of the woodwork to attack you for even considering complaining about the game because you didn't spend 30hrs watching vids on youtube or just correctly guessing what you need to do.

yea a short tool tip means mean huuuge tutorial, i shouldnt have to watch a 20 min youtube video to learn how to wash my clothes is the entire point that im making so when you say i can go to youtube you just proving my point.
Nowhere in the game does it say pressing B will show you how to craft. which i hope is an oversight, because it sounds very usefull, wish i didnt have to come the the discussions forums to learn that is what im sayin
Dont get it confused, i like the game, i just wish the devs took a little bit of time to make the game learnable from within the game, i dont want to pause every 5 mins to watch a video when a tool tip would accomplish the exact same thing. Its my opinion, its how the game makes me feel when playing, its honest critisism, not everything has to be sparkles and rainbows, sometimes things suck and piss ppl off, i stated how they can fix the frustration that i experienced, but ultimatly theres not a dam thing you or i can do about it so why are you even here? stop trying to piss in my cornflakes and let me say what i wanna say. I can already hear you typing back some rediculous comment so imma wash my hands of this right here, I stated why the game makes me mad to play and how they can fix it, over and out.

most stuff in this game is common sense
then you have the insanely hard stuff where there is 0 mention of it in-game.
For example, you can actually plumb sinks for filtered water. You'll never learn that in-game though. Some other stuff like that. I totally agree.

When you right click any water source, one of the options is clearly "wash". Hmm, wonder what that does.

i think most of the time having fun in these games is understanding how it works on my own but thats me. the given tutorials are sufficient enough to get you going.

Man, this must mean, a game like Terraria, or Dark Souls, or heck Doom Eternal, are absolutely trash games too.

Yeah and you hacks just want your hand held. Figuring out the game is a good part of the fun and besides that it's all common sense. If you need a an indepth tutorial, then you have bigger problems.
