Game looked neat so I bought it. Played the tutorial and the controls are an instant turn off.

What exactly where you expecting from them? And Why are they a turnoff?

You get used to them, they are quite straight forward and easy once you play a bit with them.
Basically you have two modes.
"Traveling mode" , which is purely WASD
"Combat mode" , with RMB you enter that stance where crosshair dictates the direction at which your character will look at.

Both modes can be combined, such as traveling one can benefit from more fine tuned rotation or even slightly quicker turning around in certain cases.


It is quite normal control scheme for isometric games where a keyboard is the main controller.

If you want to have hard controls, try Exanima and it's physics based combat. Great game, hard to get used at first to the controls.

They are extremely clunky at first, as it's a very "different" feel to a game. I definitely recommend giving it another shot, because it does not take long to get used to the controls. Your main concern should be learning the inventory system as it's a bit rough on the eyes initially. But movement is just as important, so run around with a few characters training around zombies until you get the hang of it.
The game barely provides the absolute minimum with tutorial, which is bittersweet; the whole game is left for the player to learn, but it turns away most people who just want to kill zombies. Give the game another shot, and if you end up not liking it you can always refund it.

The controls nearly made me avoid this game like the plague, i can see how theyd be a turnoff and they really should be improved. "The controls are great" os just how YOU feel, not how everyone feels

no no the controls are realllly easy once you think about it for a 30secs or less. i wont say gg get gud but its really not complicated and i say that with upmost sincerity. I bought the game in a 4 pack and gave it to my friends one of which is not very savy with computer games and within a day or 2 he got it
