The weight penalty makes zero sense in this game

Literally wearing an airforce helmet, Airforce overalls, a small 15lb Alice bag with 1 sleeping bag and 1 orange soda makes it so i cant run?

How does that make any sense lmao

just because its a "realistic game" does not mean it has to be as real as real life, also im pretty sure even with slight encumbrance you still should be able to run, unless the sleeping bag weighs like 10 pounds

You can technically run at any encumbrance, the higher above the line you go the slower it gets. Eventually it's just a speed walk that drains stamina faster then you can cross a road.

I question if that "Alice bag" is equipped or not as well. Lugging 15 encumbrance item around without holding it/equipping it sounds like a recipe for disaster.

Pz is in its own universe and the game needs balance. Risk vs reward.

Its already weird we can carry tvs and other odds and ends in our inventory, which makes no sense to me, like a fridge lol.

Equipped items should encumber you like 70% less than what their listed encumbrance shows, I think. So if you were wearing just airforce stuff that's 2.0 encumbrance before being reduced, your 15.0 bag (assuming it's like, a bag with 15.0 stuff inside it?) should be worn and reduced quite significantly because those ALICE bags are like 85% reduction I think, and then the orange soda is like 1.0 and if memory serves that sleeping bag mod is 1.0 too, whether it is rolled or not.

I'm terrible at maths but that can't be more than 10.0 active weight on your character. I know you have 2.0 base encumbrance per level of Strength (so 0 - 20 depending) before your character begins suffering the effects of too much encumbrance, which can also be reduced or increased based on your hunger etc.

Are you below 5 Strength?

Or are you referring to Sprinting? You can't sprint if you're exerted I think, but you can jog around no problem although as you become more exerted your movement speed decreases a fair bit.

Also maybe your character is Obese or something, that reduces their movement speed I think, it's been a while since I've used those traits but I think being Obese makes it so you cannot run, you can only "power walk" everywhere and stuff.

Could be a whole bunch of reasons why you can't move fast, anyway. Check your moodles! Consider grabbing that one mod that explains exactly what a moodle is effecting and what it does when you mouse over it, it can help a bit.

I dunno though, it sounds weird to me, but I've always played as 9 or 10 Strength characters, the only time I find myself unable to run is when I'm lugging like 30+ encumbrance around, or because my character has depleted most of their stamina, usually because they're so tired it doesn't regenerate faster than I use it.

This. The encumbrance value in game is not a measurement of actual factual weight in lbs/kgs. Encumbrance is essentially an amalgam of the size/weight/shape/awkwardness of storing an object, and is in some cases gameplay balanced on purpose even if it doesn't make the most sense- For example, even the largest heaviest items in the game, ie something like a fridge or generator, don't exceed 40 encumbrance.

So you might have a very light but extremely large item take a lot of encumbrance space, Or a very heavy but small object take a lot of encumbrance in just the same way. As an example, Watermelons are decently heavy, also large, with an oblong shape that is very awkward to manage- So it takes a lot of encumbrance.

yea, stove, fridge, furniture and generator, are good examples
very heavy and cannot run or do much while carrying them

good thing game logic applies, not real world rules

would be good if it could have a dolly or hand cart or pallet jack to move heavy items around more realistically, but then the items would need to be 3d modeled as well
