Crashing

If your game is crashing at launch or when trying to load a game, try some of the following fixes.

Check your specs

Sadly the game does not support Windows 7/8.1, if you are using either of these, the game will not function.
Older AMD cards (hd 8000 series and before) will also not work with the game as these are no longer supported by AMD (no new drivers since 2016)

Make sure your other specs (Memory, CPU, GPU ect) meet the minimum requirements as well.

MINIMUM:
Requires a 64-bit processor and operating system
OS: Windows 10 (64-bit versions only)
Processor: Intel Core i5-3570K or AMD FX-8310
Memory: 8 GB RAM
Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 760 or AMD Radeon RX 470
DirectX: Version 12
Storage: 15 GB available space

Verify your game files.

Verifying your game files can often fix all sorts of weird issues and should always be your first step at diagnosing issues.

Check your video drivers

Out of date video drivers can often cause many issues with video games. Although you may find older games still work, new releases may struggle on older drivers as technology moves on.
You can find the latest available drivers via the following links
AMD cards[www.amd.com]
Nvidia.[www.nvidia.co.uk]

Make sure the game is utilising your GPU

Some pcs will have both an integrated and a dedicated graphics card. Sometimes the PC will choose the wrong device to load the game and then won't be able to load at all.
Make sure this isn't happening by forcing the game to use the correct GPU.
For Nvidia this can be done in 2 ways.
- Right click on the games executable in the installation directory
- Select "Run with graphics processor" and select "high performance NVIDIA processor"

You can also do this through the NVIDIA control panel.

- Right click anywhere on the desktop, click on Nvidia control panel.
- Go into 3d settings, manage 3d settings and the finally the program settings tab.
- Locate Ranch Simulator in the list of games or add it to it
- You may be see a drop down which allows you to select which graphics card you want to use, otherwise you can change the "power settings" in the additional settings area and change this to high performance.

And alternative to this and a workaround for AMD cards you can do the following
- Right click on the desktop and go to display settings
- Scroll down and click on graphic settings
- Click Browse in the "Choose an app to set preference" section and navigate to the installation directory for the game
- Click on the games main executable and click add, the game should now appear as a selectable option
- Click the game and then select options and make sure the game is set to high performance. it will then display what graphics card it uses

Turn off any desktop scaling

Desktop scaling can sometimes cause issues with games, as it can interact with the scaling of the game causing graphical issues.
You can turn off scaling per application by doing the following
- Navigate to the games installation directory
- Right click on the games executable and go to properties
- Go to the compatibility tab and then click on "change high DPI settings"
- tick the "Override high dpi scaling behaviour" and make sure the drop box is set to Application

Turn off additional boost modes, or energy saving modes for GPU

Nvidia boost mode, or energy saving mode has been known to cause issues with some games. Turning these off can sometimes solve crashing issues.
AMD boost mode and chill mode can also do the same, so you may need to make sure these are off as well

Overclocking or higher clocked cards.

We have noticed that other unreal games are having similar issues and an often discussed fix is making sure your cards clock or voltage isn't set too high, making it unstable. Some Cards will come Overclocked as standard (OC/FTW/AMP model cards) and underclocking can sometimes solve this issue too.

Turn off screen captures or overlays

Although in most cases screen capturing software doesn't cause issues. Some less popular software may cause unknown issues. If you are using any screen capturing software, try running the game with this switched off.

Lower some of your settings

If you are able to get into the main menu of the game. Then try lowering some of the graphical settings, limiting the frame rate and also trying windowed mode.

Blurry Textures
If you have blurry textures, you can try the previously mentioned DPI fix, but also you can try the following.
- press the windows key + R on your keyboard to open the run console
- type in %appdata%/../Local/Ranch_Simulator/Saved/Config/WindowsNoEditor and press ok
- open Settings.ini file in a text editor.
- add the line r.Streaming.PoolSize=4000

If this does not work, try lowering the pool size to 2000.

If this doesn’t work, it is most likely because your graphics card does not have enough dedicated memory to display the textures in game. The recommended minimum is 2GB VRam

Saving Issues

Save file location
The Ranch Simulator save location is now AppData\Local\Ranch_Simulator\Saved\SaveGames

An easy way to get to this area is by doing the following
- Press the windows key + R on your keyboard to open the run console
- type in %appdata%/../local/Ranch_Simulator/Saved/SaveGames and then click ok

This should open the save file location directly.

Check to see if windows defender is blocking the game

You need to allow Ranch Simulator in Windows defender to access controlled folders so that it can save in the location AppData\Local\Ranch_Simulator\Saved\SaveGames.

To do these follow these steps:

Select Start > Settings > Update & Security > Windows Security > Virus & threat protection.

Under Virus & threat protection settings, select Manage settings.

Under Controlled folder access, select Manage Controlled folder access.

Switch the Controlled folder access setting to On or Off.

Run the game as admin

If the above doesn't work, or you don't have Windows Defender, please try running Steam/Ranch Sim as an Admin.

Quit steam completely and make sure it isn't minimised. Right click on steams desktop icon or app listing in the start menu.
Then select "run as administrator" then launch Ranch Sim as normal.

If this isn't working, then try running the game directly as Admin.
You'll need to locate the installation directory for the game (Right click on the game in steam, go to properties, then local files and browse)
Then right click on the games main executable file and then select "launch as administrator"

i solved the problem you have to add "r.Streaming.PoolSize=4000" inside Settings.ini ,you can find the file ; C:\Users\YOURUSERNAME\AppData\Local\Ranch_Simulator\Saved\Config\WindowsNoEditor

- logo on the truck
- build chicken coops elsewhere
- build a fence or wall around the farm
- furniture store to furnish the house
- plantations, vegetables and fruit trees
- more stores and npc on the map
- romance with npc
- dog Cat
- scope weapons
- npc missions (asking for meat, asking for eggs, asking for wood, asking to fix something)
- fishing
- horse racing (as I see no use for the horse, since he does not carry items and meat, and we have the vehicles for that)

Here is my suggestion about the meat problem that people are complaining about in ranch simulator. As you know when you have the egg basket you can pick it up then go to your hen house an automatically placed the egg in the basket without having to pick it up move over to the basket and press E. What you can do is have a meat bag and do the same thing. It will have a capacity of 20 pieces of meat then you can load that bag in the back of your vehicle take it to the store and sell it in the square which will automatically deplete the number of pieces in the bag so that you can keep the bag to use again. Just something I figured would be a great help to the ranch simulator game. I am going to place it in the suggestions and out here for others to see as well. It is a great game in my opinion just continue working out the bugs.
