We are incredibly grateful for all of your support and feedback so far. It is what’s great about Early Access: you help to shape the future of the game, including core gameplay.

The goal with Ranch Simulator is to let you run your ranch how you want to. And so it makes absolute sense that the most requested feature has been to able to build facilities where you please.

We listened and are excited to reveal that in the latest update we've added the ability to build the likes of coops and fences wherever you like on your Ranch! This gives you much more freedom to run your ranch how you want to.

The build anywhere update unfortunately causes old saves to no longer work, meaning you will lose all of your progress before this update.


Allowing you to build facilities wherever you choose is a major core, fundamental change to the game – meaning that old save files are no longer be compatible.

We very much understand how frustrating it is to lose your progress in a game, and it’s an unfortunate side effect that many Early Access games run into.

We believe that this update is a substantial step forward for the game fundamentals, and we hope that you feel the same.


We can’t rule it out. We are committed to improving and expanding the game with new content throughout Early Access, and this may unfortunately result in further progression resets in the future.

A progression reset isn't that big of a deal. Not at this point in development, anyway. There's only so much to be done at this point, and the ability to build in new locations is well worth it. Keep up the good work.

Will being able to build these coops or fences be dependent on logs and/or planks?

If so, is there any plan on trees we cut down regrowing/respawning as well?

I agree that the game is limited once you get to a certain point at this time. So I'm excited for future updates and to start fresh!

We knew that this game is early access so the progression reset is ok. I'm looking forward to the new updates!

My only question is- will we lose our bankroll in the June Update? I dont mind losing the rest but that will break my heart if I lose all the hard earned cash.

Will this update unstick the logs in the back of my UTV? Can’t pick them up.

Some people managed to get the new update while the other bites didn't get it. Why?

Bears would have nerf and the cows price is high but pigs is better i dont understand

If the update doesn't unstick your logs, then please do the following (save locations are changing so these instructions won't work until you've loaded the game the first time *after* the update):
Send an email to support@excalibur-games.com with your save file and an explanation of your issue. The save file (ranchsave.sav) is located in: AppData\Local\Ranch_Simulator\Saved\SaveGames

To access this location, you can do the following:

- Press the windows key and R together to open the run command
- type in %appdata%/../local/Ranch_Simulator and press ok

We run an 'unstable branch' on our Discord, there are members of the community that are willing to hop on and try the update around a week before it goes live to the public. The unstable version may have bugs, we use it for testing.

We're going ahead with the impression that everything will be wiped, until we start working on it and testing it, we're unsure whether we can transfer funds over.

Apologies for missing your question!
Until we start developing I can't say how it's going to work or what materials it will require. We currently have no plans for trees respawning, but it's on our suggestions list to allow for the replantation of trees

So when will the April update come out?? I know things can be delayed due to certain bugs and stuff. Just excited for the update :)

Would it be possible to hire help on your ranch or have a family?
