Why no basic fix?

I played this today after a break of six months or more only to find a really basic issue doesn't seem to have been fixed viz; foundations don't line up properly with living modules which, as its tricky to place a module without some of it being above ground, makes builds look horrible. Am I missing something, surely this is an easy fix?

This is not a big. The iron foundation blocks are needed for many things. You need to build them for many outdoor things which cannot be built directly on uneven ground. They are not used only for living compartments. So they are not designed specifically to fit living compartments.

My base literally floats in the air lol

I understand that, it's not a 'bug' it's simply that a suitable model and proper 'snapping' doesn't exist which is poor for a game that mostly involves base building.

Frankly, I would be happy if I could just get them to center on the living compartment. They seem to be about the same size as the non-curved bit of the underside of the living compartment, but it can't be centered there, at least not in any of my attempts. It's frustrating. I ended up just making a large platform out of them to put my base on (with slightly off-center stairs, since stairs that snap to the foundations can't line up with doors on the living compartments).

The foundations and compartments also seem to use different vertical grids as well? I definitely had trouble getting them to line up nicely, anyway (and my base is sunk into the foundations a bit because I hadn't thought of that before building it and I wasn't about to tear them all up to get them to the proper height). It's all just bizarre.

The reason why they don't fit is easy.
When Sentinel Corps bought the construction multi-tool, they needed blueprints, and the foundations was a freebie from AdvantiStruct LLC, where they also got the stairs and handrails(they didn't want to license the handrails, really, but the current incarnation of OSHA forced them.)
The shelter modules are from TerraHome, 'Cheapest and most modular home under the twin suns', and they have their own foundations, which aren't included because Sentinel Corps only licensed the modules they considered necessary.

Some of the more advanced blueprints they only optioned, and have to pay a license fee for every use, so yes, you really need to build Agility Boots T3 and Mining Chip T4. And if you manage 100 Aquarium T1, their project manager for your case will start crying.

Also, the Blue Chips you find, they're not really blueprints. They're ship logs, mining records and all kinds of company secrets. OTHER Companies secrets. Sentinel Corps just let you believe that they contain blueprints because industrial espionage is just another service they deliver...

True this.
