Boss Monsters/Special Infected; Other World Events

I feel this game could benefit well from world events or monsters. Not constant respawning special infected like left 4 dead. My friends and I thought it would be interesting especially in our PVP server, if there were like a Mr. X OR Nemesis type thing that would hone in on certain players and pursue them non stop. When they die they die though. Or have a situation where the helicopter deploys a team of military sweepers.

I know I'd love to see a Tornado or earthquake. Homes and business gone, streets could no longer be traversable.

It would be an absolute trip to have some hyper monster man break through the safe house and start laying people out. Or to come across a survivor on the run lol.

It woould be cool but I have heard dev mention that they want regular walking dead alike experience so i dont think we gonna get any of those

I think the vanilla simulation is great. But they seem to be going all out. Nothing wrong with options. Turn this ♥♥♥♥♥ to 11

They've been very adamant about Romero styled human zombies only. For anything else, you have mods.

All I'm saying is, you have the vanilla zombie sim. It can always be worked on. But you've made a game that encompasses the SIMS, old Resident Evil, and aspects of survival games, why wouldn't you be THE ZOMBIE SIM and not a zombie sim? Let me be a cannibal dawg. Let me fight a Mr. X. Let me kill military guys like 28days later.

How cool would it be if the military could take you captive.

I'd much rather see a marauding force roll through, armed to the teeth and packing full military hardware -- a helicopter or two, tanks, APCs, the works -- around year 1. They would blow through any kind of defenses you might have built over the previous year, and even if you don't meet them head-on (which would be stupid), the hordes of zombies they'd pull in from far and wide would overrun most bases with ease. Maybe even have them build their own base somewhere along the main road, cutting off the major routes between N/S E/W locales.

Something that sort of forces you to abandon whatever base you've built and start over from scratch in a new location. Because that's where the game shines -- the frantic struggle to collect the things you need to survive while making the most of the meager resources you manage to find along the way.

We were even talking dungeon type explorations. A sewer, base, bunker, a skyscraper, etc

Yasssss be a good reason to have players team up too.

I think it's fine if they want to focus on a specific thing like they are. They have so much work ahead of the still for the general mechanics that I really don't think doing extra stuff like that is remotely on their radar. But, there's always mods, which they support, and most of those ideas, at least for PZ, seem more in that realm.

I can almost guarantee you that military folks will be there in some form another when NPCs get made. But as for monsters, not gonna happen. And I'm of the opinion that it shouldn't be in this game either.

I must say I prefer the game the way it is now.

Right now, it's much more of a zombie 'simulator'. Once you start adding random monsters it veers into silly territory where it's just like every other zombie game. I don't need hunters/lickers/nemesis etc in Zomboid.

I think a huge part of the charm this game has is how grounded it is. Regular people, infected with a disease and becoming zombified.

I'm happy for them to add NPC's. That's still realistic.
