This Week in Heroes Esports – June 2, 2016
The Global Summer Championship representatives from every region except North America have now been determined. This week, teams from Korea, Taiwan, and Latin America added their names to the list of qualifiers heading to Sweden to compete. This weekend, a team from North America will complete that list by proving themselves at the second NA Regional of the season in Los Angeles. Between that event and the Grand Finals of Korea’s Super League, this Heroes weekend is one that you won’t want to miss!

Regional Champions Win Their Titles Worldwide!
Last season, we saw Team No Limit qualify for the Spring Championship in Seoul alongside MVP Black. This year, a new challenger has stepped up to usurp TNL as the second of Korea’s representatives in the Summer Global Championship: Tempest!
Meanwhile in Latin America, Big Gods showed why they still deserve to be the region’s champions. Despite their best efforts, second place Infamous (formerly Crusader Gaming) fell once more in an upsetting 3-0 loss to Big Gods. For the second season in a row, Big Gods will be representing LATAM!
Taiwan also found new global representatives in Please Buff Arthas; a team comprised in part of players formerly from GIA, the Taiwanese Spring Regional Champions. Other members of GIA competed on the roster of ROT as former teammates were pitted against one another. Ultimately, PBA showed their prowess and complete domination of the region, claiming their place at the Summer Global Championship with a devastating 4-0 sweep in the Grand Finals.

North America Heads to Burbank!
It’s finally here! The final team heading to DreamHack Sweden to compete in the Global Summer Championship will be determined in Burbank, California this weekend! Starting on June 3, the eight qualified teams will face off starting with Group Stages. The top two finishers from each group will then advance to the Playoff Bracket. Naventic have already qualified as one of the two North American representatives, leaving the other seven teams hungry for the final qualifying spot.
The full lineup of teams for North America Regional #2 is as follows:

- Team Name Change
- Cloud9
- Tempo Storm
Cloud9, having come in second place during the North America Regional #1, will automatically secure their place at the Global Championship if they come in either first or second place. If Cloud9 is unable to duplicate their results and Naventic is able to take first place once again, the second place team from this Regional #2 will play one final match against Cloud9 to determine which of them goes to Sweden.
