Hey everyone, I played EQ back during the first few expansions and have made several returns throughout the course of the games life. The thing is, I've never, ever gotten to end game in the game. The farthest I got was 51 on a warrior, during the Luclin era. That being the case, when I recently started trying to get back into the game, I couldn't help but feel a little overwhelmed and also a bit disheartened that so much of the old content is considered obsolete these days. I was really hoping to go through every expansion and see all the stuff I missed over the years. I know there are progression guilds occasionally but all of the guilds I've found have already been playing for at least a handful of months or so and thus are quite a few expansions in already.



I guess what I'm asking is, what is the game like these days for new players, and is there a feasible way to do a lot of the old content without a raid force required and such? And -- aside from the pleasure of it -- is there any reason to do it (like useful gear/items that scale to newer content, achievements, etc?)
