I'm loving crazy builds in other games and realized that it might be possible to create another viable DH build. Many of his/her skills provide tankyness and/or crowd control.

Be warned: This is only theorycrafting, i have not tested if it will work! Let me know what you think about it. :)

I've not explained everything in detail, so if anything seems to not make sense, feel free to ask about it!

Let's take a look at viable items:

• Main-Hand:

1) Calamity: Enemies you hit become Marked for Death: The marked enemy takes 20% additional damage for the next 30 seconds.

=> Awesome buff for the whole party

• Off-Hand:

1) Stormshield: Reduces damage from melee attacks by 25.030.0%

2) Wall of Man (craft): 2030% chance to be protected by a shield of bones when you are hit.

3) The Burning Axe of Sankis: Chance to fight through the pain when enemies hit you: Reduce all damage taken by 50% and gain Immunity to all control-impairing effects for 5 seconds.

=> There aren't any Quivers with useful effects for this build (Not sure if you can hold Calamity + Sankis Axe, but they both are awesome)

• Amulets:

1) Countess Julia's Cameo: Prevent all Arcane damage taken and heal yourself for 20-25% of the amount prevented.

2) Mara's Kaleidoscope: Prevent all Poison damage taken and heal yourself for 10-15% of the amount prevented.

3) Talisman of Aranoch: Prevent all Cold Damage taken and heal yourself for 10-15% of the amount prevented.

4) The Star of Azkaranth: Prevent all Fire damage taken and heal yourself for 10-15% of the amount prevented.

5) Xephirian Amulet: Prevent all Lightning damage taken and heal yourself for 10-15% of the amount prevented.

6) Overwhelming Desire: Chance on hit to charm the enemy. While charmed, the enemy takes 35% more damage.

=> Immunity to an element or even more party dmg increase (Sentrys don't proc on hit effects as far as i know, so u have to use damage spells)

• Rings:

1) Bul-Kathos's Wedding Band: You drain life from enemies around you.

2) Justice Lantern: Reduces duration of control impairing effects by 3570%, +11-16% Chance to Block.

3) Ring of Royal Grandeur: Reduces the number of items needed for set bonuses by 1 (to a minimum of 2).

4) Rogar's Huge Stone: Increase your Life per Second by up to 75100% based on your missing Life.

5) Wyrdward: Lightning damage has a 1317% chance to Stun for 1.5 seconds.

=> Don't know whether Bul-Kathos is good. Justice Lantern sounds viable, RoRG for sets. Rogar's sounds viable. Wyrdward for a lightning build

• Belt:

1) String of Ears: Reduces damage from melee attacks by 25-30%.

2) Thunder Gods Vigor: Blocking, dodging or being hit causes you to discharge bolts of electricity that deal 100130% weapon damage as Lightning.

3) Vigilante Belt: Can give 8% cooldown reduction

=> Huge damage reduction or lightning damage for Wyrdward or CDR

• Gloves:

1) Frostburn: Your Chill effects have up to a 3445% chance to Freeze instead of Slow.

2) St. Archew's Gage: When there are 5 enemies within 12 yards of you, gain an absorb shield for 20-25% of your maximum Life for 6 seconds. This effect may occur once every 30 seconds.

3) Ancient Parthan Defenders: Each stunned enemy within 25 yards reduces your damage taken by 9-12%.

=> Freeze is good. Archew's sounds awesome. Parthan synergizes with lightning.

• Boots:

1) Ice Climbers: Gain immunity to Freeze and Immobilize effects.

=> Sounds good

2) Boots of Disregard: Gain 500 Life regeneration per Second for each second you stand still. This effect stacks up to 8 times.

=> Could be good

• Bracers:

1) Strongarm Bracers: Enemies hit by knockbacks suffer 20-30% more damage for 5 seconds when they land.

=> Vault can knockback

• Helm:

1) Leoric's Crown: Increase the effect of any gem socketed into this item by 75100%.

2) The Helm of Rule (craft): +11% Chance to Block

=> Crown is awesome for % Life or % CDR. Block sounds good

Let's take a look at viable sets:

• Asheara's Vestments

(2) Set: +100 Resistance to All Elements

(3) Set: +20% Life

=> Useful stats

• Aughild's Authority

(2) Set: Reduces damage from ranged attacks by 7.0%. Reduces damage from melee attacks by 7.0%

(3) Set: Reduces damage from elites by 15% Increases damage against elites by 15%

=> Useful stats

• Blackthorne's Battlegear

(2) Set: +250 Vitality Increases damage against elites by 10%

(3) Set: Reduces damage from elites by 10.0%

(4) Set: You are immune to Desecrator, Molten, and Plagued monster ground effects.

=> More immunity

• Born's Command

(2) Set: +15% Life

(3) Set: Reduces cooldown of all skills by 10.0%

=> If CDR is needed

• Embodiment of the Marauder

(2) Set: +500 Dexterity

(4) Set: Companion calls all companion types to your side.

(6) Set: Sentries cast your equipped Hatred spenders.

=> Amazing set, but limits the other item choices extremly

• Krelms Buff Bulwark

(2) Set: +500 Vitality

=> Not sure about this set, but the bracers could be useful

Let's take a look at viable active skills:

• Companion:

Spider Companion Active: Your spider throws webs at all enemies within 25 yards of you and him, Slowing them by 80% for 5 seconds. (The spider's attacks Slow enemies by 60% for 3 seconds.)

Boar Companion Active: Your boar charges to you, then taunts all enemies within 20 yards for 5 seconds. (The boar increases your Life regeneration by 5364 per second and increases your resistance to all damage types by 20%.)

Wolf Companion Active: Your wolf howls, granting you and your allies within 60 yards 30% increased damage for 10 seconds.

=> Slow, taunt, more party dmg (awesome with 4 pieces Marauder)

• Sentry (Guardian Turret): The turret also creates a shield that reduces damage taken by allies by 15%.

=> I hope this applies to yourself (Might prevent allies from getting thunderstorm/jailer... - oneshot, but most likely not)

• Vault (Rattling Roll): Enemies you vault through are knocked away and Stunned for 1.5 seconds.

=> Knockback for Strongarm Bracers

• Cluster Arrow:

Dazzling Arrow Enemies hit by the grenades have a 100% chance to be stunned for 1.5 seconds.

Maelstrom Instead of releasing grenades, release up to 5 rockets at nearby enemies that each deal 450% weapon damage as Cold. You gain 1% Life per enemy hit.

=> Stun is good, Life gain aswell

• Multishot (Suppression Fire): Gain 1 Discipline for each enemy hit. Maximum 6 Discipline gain per Multishot.

=> Important for Smoke Screen, Shadow Power, Vault,

• Elemental Arrow (Frost Arrow): Shoot a frost arrow that hits an enemy for 330% weapon damage as Cold then splits into up to 10 additional frost arrows. Enemies hit are Chilled by 60% for 1 seconds.

=> Chill effect

• Smoke Screen (Healing Vapors): Regenerate 15% Life while invisible.

=> Life regeneration

• Preparation:

Invigoration Passive: Permanently increase maximum Discipline by 15.

Battle Scars Gain 40% Life when using Preparation.

Focused Mind Gain 45 Discipline over 15 seconds instead of restoring it immediately.

=> More discipline / life gain

• Entangling Shot (Shock Collar): Entangled enemies take 80% weapon damage as Lightning over 2 seconds.

=> Lightning build, slow

• Rain of Vengeance (Flying Strike): Call a group of 8 Shadow Beasts to plummet from the sky at a targeted location dealing 3800% total weapon damage as Cold over 5 seconds and Freezing enemies hit for 2 seconds.

=> Freeze is good

• Bolas: Freezing Strike Shoot 3 bolas that each deal 160% weapon damage as Cold. The bolas no longer explode for area damage to nearby enemies. Enemies hit have a 50% chance to be Frozen for 1 seconds.

=> Freeze again

• Evasive Fire (Hardened): Instead of backflipping, your Armor is increased by 25% for 3 seconds.

=> 25% is a lot

• Shadow Power (Gloom): Reduce damage taken by 35% while Shadow Power is active.

=> 35% is even more and applies to everything

• Fan of Knives:

Bladed Armor Gain 40% additional armor for 6 seconds.

Fan of Daggers Enemies hit are Stunned for 3 seconds.

=> Even more armor than Evasive Fire or a long stun (Incredible low 10 second cooldown without cooldown reduction)

• Grenade (Stun Grenade): Hurl a Lightning grenade that has a 20% chance to Stun enemies for 1.5 seconds.

=> Stun is good, lightning build

Let's take a look at viable passive skills:

• Awareness: When you receive fatal damage, you instead vanish for 2 seconds and regenerate 50% of maximum Life. This effect may occur once every 60 seconds.

=> You might stay alive forever

• Perfectionist: Reduce the Discipline cost of all skills by 10%. Increase your Armor and resistance to all damage types by 10%.

=> Super awesome

• Grenadier: Increase the damage of grenades by 10%, the explosion size of grenades by 20%. Upon death, you drop a giant grenade that explodes for 1000% weapon damage as Fire.

=> Don't know about this one

• Numbing Traps: Enemies you Slow or hit with Fan of Knives, Spike Trap, Caltrops, Grenades, and Sentry fire have their damage reduced by 25% for 3 seconds.

=> Awesome

• Brooding: Gain 3.0% Life regeneration per second for every second you remain stationary, stacking up to 3 times. This bonus is reset 5 seconds after you move.

=> Might be good, not sure

Let's take a look at viable legendary gems:

• Gem of Efficacious Toxin: Base Effect: Poison all enemies hit for 2000% weapon damage over 10 seconds. Rank 25: All enemies you poison take 10% increased damage from all sources.

=> Procs MfD from Calamity, nice party DPS buff

• Invigorating Gemstone: Base Effect: While under any control-impairing effects, reduce all damage taken by 30%. Rank 25: Heal for 20% of maximum life when hit by control-impairing effect.

=> Sounds good

• Moratorium Base Effect: 25% of all damage taken is instead staggered and dealt to you over 3 seconds. Rank 25: 10% chance on kill to clear all staggered damage.

=> Might be good, not sure

• Taeguk Base Effect: Gain 0.5% increased damage for 3 seconds after spending primary resource. This effect stacks up to 20 times. Rank 25: Gain 0.5% increased Armor for every stack.

=> Not sure about this one

Let's take a look at viable maxed gems:

• Helm: Amethyst: +23% Life Diamond: -12.5% Cooldowns

• Weapon: Amethyst: 11200 Life per Hit Ruby: +270 Damage

=> Crit Damage might not be worth it, because of the lacking Crit Chance / Damage

• Other: Amethyst: +280 Vitality Emerald: +280 Dexterity Diamond: +78 All Res

CDR stacking :

• Diamond: 12.5% (100% Leoric's Helm)

• Vigilante Belt: 8%

• Shoulders, Gloves, 2 Rings, Amulet: 8% each

• Main-Hand, Off-Hand: 10% each

• Paragon Points: 10%

=> Useful for Preparation, Companion, Fan of Knives, Rain of Vengeance

You could aim for 55.51% effective cooldown (75% raw cooldown)

=> More would be a huge waste
